Happy New Year everybody!! I have finally gotten around to posting about this product. I don't know what's taken me so long but.. better late than never! Revlon came out with new products in their ColorBurst range called the matte and lacquer balms. The matte ones of course leaving a matte finish and the lacquer leaving a shinier one. I had no interest in most of the colors on both sides of this new launch but there was one shade that caught my eye and of course, it was the warm pink. The name is 'Unapologetic'. It is a part of the matte collection.

Now, I am not one for matte lips. My lips are dry more often than not and matte finishes never end up looking nice on me. Because of that, I slathered my lips in chapstick directly before applying this balm and it turned out quite nice! I got more of a satin finish than a matte and the color still lasted a few hours before wanting to go away.

I don't know what it is about me and warm-toned pinks but I always gravitate toward them. This shade could also be described as a coral than leans very pink. I'm terrible at describing colors but the photo I have above is very true-to-color. For once. I'm learning on how to get my photos to show more realistically!

Anyway, I'm more pleased with the matte balms than I had expected I would be since I figured out that chapstick can be applied underneath and it almost makes me want to go out and try one of the lacquer balms! I heard rave reviews about one shade in particular so I may be back sooner or later to review that one. Also, this shade is similar to another shade that I have. This is close but a bit warmer than OCC's Lip Tar in Queen.

If you've got any questions on Unapologetic, shoot 'em in the comments below and I'll answer them promptly! I hope you all had a lovely holiday season and I can't wait to share 2014 with all of ya. I'm sure it's going to be just as good, if not better, than last year. Cheers!
